Summary: Bertie goes to a rather rummy sort of club, the last place one would expect to find one’s brilliant valet. What follows is more rummy stuff, lots of drinking, much too much smoking, and some other unmentionable things.
Why this fic is awesome:
Not only does this fic have many wonderous elements that are 100% My Jam (inverts, historical queers, excellent language choices, absinthe benders (ooh very bold) Gentlemen’s Clubs For A Certain Persuasion etc the absolutely perfect Wooster tone is what makes this fic ring like a clear true bell of a thing. The turns of phrase are spectacularly in keeping with the original text and just make it so very believable. Blooming excellent all-rounder.
